The Duster softball team continued to gain experience at  the Hastings High School Quad on September 8, where they faced Adams Central and Fillmore Central.

“We have a lot of potential this team and right now, we are working on bettering ourselves as players,” stated junior Andria Finnegan.

In the first game against Adams Central, the Dusters couldn’t get the offense rolling at key points in the game, leaving runners on base. Defensively, the Dusters made small errors that cost them later in the game and lead to Adams Central defeating Holdrege 10-0.

“Adams Central is a really solid team, and getting the opportunity to play them and get more familiar with each other and our positions is something that will help us in the postseason coming up,” stated senior catcher Megan Henry.

Later, Holdrege took on Fillmore Central. Again, the Dusters worked very hard on the offensive side but came up short when it came to scoring runs. Multiple errors on the defensive end in the second and third innings lead to Holdrege coming up short and losing the game 10-0.

The Duster softball team will be in action on Thursday, September 13 to take on the Lady Swedes in Gothenburg.
