Girls’ Cross Country Wins Gothenburg Meet

  Running as hard as they can, the cross country girls competed on the UNK course on September 24 and the Gothenburg course on September 27.

    “I thought that we competed very well as a team, ” says Kenzie Hurlbert

    After a strong run on the UNK course, the team ended up placing fourth. Sydney Reed ended up placing seventh  with a time of 20:34. Shortly following was Kenzie Hurlbert taking twelfth place with a time of 20:42 . Next to follow was Jirsie Klein with a time of 22:31. Close behind her was Lacy Biltoft with a time of 22:44. Next, was Kelsey Belgum with a time of 27:09.

    With high hopes for Gothenburg, the girls continued to push themselves and ended up winning the meet. Kenzie Hurlbert ended up placing second, with Sydney Reed close behind placing fifth. Jirsie Klein was next to cross the finish line by placing fourteenth. Next was Lacy Biltoft with taking 18th place.

    “Gothenburg was a big meet with different competition that we haven’t seen in a while. We ran well and won the meet,” said Sydney Reed.
