The Holdrege cross country girls hosted the Central Ten conference cross country meet on October 4.

“Besides the cold I thought everyone ran great and we definitely deserved first place with our performance!” said Cassidy Newth.

After a strong run on our home golf course, the team ended up winning the meet. Kenzie Hurlbert finished sixth with a time of 19:42. Shortly following was Sydney Reed taking seventh place with a time of 19:44. Next was Jirsie Klein with a thirteenth place finish with a time of 20:30. Close behind her was Lacy Biltoft ending the race with taking fifthteenth place with a time of 20:34, and next was Kelsey Belgum with a time of 23:49. Cassidy Newth finished with a time of 24:28.

“I thought the conference meet was a really good meet for our team. We showed a lot of grit that day,” said Jirsie Klein.
