The boys’ cross country team made the trip back out to Ogallala last week for the District Meet to try and secure their spot at the  state meet for a chance to win their third state title.

The team saw the fruits of their labors by picking up second place at the meet, allowing them a state position.

The top runner for the team this week was Tyler Peterson who placed second with a time of 16:47. Caden Erickson, close behind, clenched a fourth place spot with a time of 17:07. Grant Engel came in tenth place with a time of 17:31.

Other Duster runners were Bryant Fulmer in twenty-sixth,  Hudson Reed in thirty-second, and Jackson Hilyard in thirty-third.

The boys have some tough competition to face at the state meet but they have shown in the past they are up to the challenge.

The state meet will take place at the Kearney Country Club on Friday, October 19.
