Girls’ Cross Country Captures District Championship

The Holdrege cross country girls traveled all the way to Ogallala to run their District meet on October 11.
“The girls won and I am very pleased with how everyone performed for the team,” said Sydney Reed.
The team ended up winning the meet with Sydney Reed finishing third with a time of 19:52. Next to cross the finish line was Kenzie Hurlbert finishing sixth with a time of 20:07. Shortly after was Jirsie Klein with a ninth place finish with a time of 20:58. Close behind her was Lacy Biltoft ending the race ending sixteenth place with a time of 21:32, and next was Kelsey Belgum with a time of 24:47. Cassidy Newth finished with a time of 25:08.
“I thought it was a really good meet, not just individually, but team wise. I think a lot of goals were met, excited to see what state brings,” says Jirsie Klein.
The state meet will take place at the Kearney Country Club on October 19.
