“Soldiers Young and Brave” Performed by HHS One-Act Crew


Holdrege High School – One-Act Cast

    The Holdrege High School Drama Department performed a Civil War era play, Soldiers Young and Brave by Lorraine Thompson. The play follows the lives of families through the call to arms, saying goodbye, battles, life at camp hospitals and Andersonville Prison, and finally finding out whether or not the men are coming home.     

    Over 50 students are involved in putting the show together including actors, stage crew, painters, sound and light technicians, and stage managers.   

     The One Act team participated in three competitions; festival, conference, and districts. At the Central 10 Conference in York the team placed sixth overall and at the District Competition they placed fourth overall.  

  Outstanding Actor awards during the three competitions included: Hannah Hofaker, Boston Petit, Amanda Envick, Elizabeth Drews, Jenna Schroeder, Carter Newth, Delaney Ham, Wyatt Hornaman, Tehya Cuypers, Faith Anderson, and Eli Dutcher.
