Girls’ Basketball Defeats Lexington in Overtime Contest

      Capturing their first win of the season, the Holdrege Dusters Girls’ Basketball team won a thrilling 47-40 overtime win over long time arch-rival Lexington.

    “I think the Lexington game really helped up grow and trust each other as a team. Hopefully it will help us being under pressure in future games,” said sophomore Taylor Wiser.

    Against Lexington,  Jirsie Klein was the leading rebounder with eight rebounds and leading scorer with thirteen points.

    The next evening, versus Hastings, the team struggled offensively and but played well defensively, losing 22-33.

     Against Hastings the leading rebounder was McKenna Ortgiesen with seven rebounds and leading scorer with seven points.

    “I thought we played well for a few quarters. We still have a little to work on but it is definitely making us closer as a team,” said junior Jirsie Klein.
