On January 19, 2019 the Duster’s boys wrestling team competed at the John Higgins Invitational with 12 teams competing. The team placed 8th with 80.5 points.

“This is arguably the toughest meet we go to all year.  I think we wrestled pretty good considering the caliber of competition there.  We had the opportunity to avenge some losses from earlier in the year and that helps us out when we get to the district meet.  Trent Weak was our only champion, and he beat the #5 rated wrestler in class B in the semi-final round and then beat the #2 rated wrestler in 4A Kansas in the finals.  Every week we wrestle better and we are hoping to peak at the district and state meet,” Said Coach Ganser.

Individual Placers included: Brayden Schmalz (113) – 5th, Treven Melroy (138) – 5th, Tyler Peterson (152) – 5th, Imanol Munoz (195) – 2nd, Trent Weak (220) – 1st.
