Throughout school, students are encouraged to participate in activities that help them improve their leadership for the future. On January sixteenth, sophomore Bailey Johnson and eighth grader Cole Bailey were given an opportunity to do just that. They competed in the FCCLA STAR (Students Taking Action for Recognition) taking place at UNK.

“I learned time management while doing my project, because I had around 2-3 months to work on it, and I didn’t want to save it all for the last minute. I think it was beneficial to compete since I like interior design, and that is what my project was on,” stated Bailey when asked about her experience in FCCLA.

Bailey was joined in competition by fellow classmates Tessa Dobbertin, Chaylyn McGowan, as well as fellow state qualifier, Cole Bailey. Bailey Johnson will be competing in Senior Interior Design, and Cole Bailey will be competing in Junior Tech and Learn.
