Boys’ Golf Opens Season at Kearney and Lexington

On Friday, April 5, the Holdrege Boys competed in their first varsity invite at the Kearney Invite at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course.

“The Dusters played in a large golf invite with many great Class A teams and had a good performance. The Meadowlark Hills course played tougher today than last Tuesday but Matt was able to figure out the longer holes and more difficult greens,” said Coach Tim Mattson.

The top four golfers scored a combined score of 370. Individual Scorers included: Matt Anderson who placed 13th – 81, Damon Taylor – 88, Josh Reed – 92, Parker Hamling – 109, Nelson Milks – 114.

On Tuesday, April 8, the golf team was back in action, competing in the Lexington Invite at the Lakeside Country Club just south of Johnson Lake.

“Dusters had a pretty good day at the golf course at Lakeside Country club for the lexington Invite. Holdrege, Shooting 360 finished 5th out of 11 teams,” said Coach Mattson.

Individual scorers included: Matt Anderson who placed fifth place – 79, Damon Taylor – 91, Josh Reed – 92, Parker Hamling – 98, Nelson Milks – 112.
