    This past week, the girls track team competed in their own home meet on April 26. It was a bit of a breezy day but overall a beautiful day to compete.

    Placing for the sprinters was Ryan Melroy who was second in the 400 meter dash. The 4 x 400 meter relay placed 3rd, The members of the relay were Elise Schriner, Carly Janssen, Sydney Reed, and Samantha Schemper.

    In the distance events, Sydney Reed placed first in the 800 meter run with Megan Belgum placing 3rd. In the 1600 meter run, Kenzie Hurlbert placed first and Jirsie Klein placed 4th. The 4×800 meter relay placed first, the members of the winning team were Sydney Reed, Kenzie Hurlbert, Jirsie Klein, and Megan Belgum.

    In the field events, Samantha Schemper placed first, Sierra Schemper placed second, and Carly Janssen placed third in pole vault. Elise Schriner placed 5th in long jump and Addison Johnson placed 7th in Shot put.

    As a team, the girls placed 3rd with a score of 87.5 points.
