With new head coach Ashley Axmann, Holdrege High School volleyball continues to evolve as a team.

“Individually the girls are working very hard to learn new fundamentals and master new skills. They have had great attitudes and are showing a lot of passion for volleyball and their teammates.  There has also been a lot of positivity on the court, which will allow them to play at a higher level,” said Coach Axmann.

In a recent tournament, the girls went 1-2 in three close games. They defeated Boone Central in three sets (25-15, 24-26, 25-22), but lost to Central City (17-25, 16-25) and Adams Central (20-25, 22-25).

”We started a lot stronger in the last tournament than we usually do.  Starting stronger allowed us to play more consistent throughout the matches.  If we can continue to work on the start of our game and build off of that, I think we will be more successful in the future,” exclaimed Coach Axmann.

“I hope that we can build off of each other and be aggressive! Hopefully we can come out with some more wins! I love playing with these girls,” stated senior captain Natalie Janssen.
